In the Kasbah quarter of the ancient Marrakech medina, easily accessible by taxi, minibus and horse-drawn calèche and only yards from the Royal Palace, Les Borjs de la Kasbah is a charming boutique hotel in Marrakech meticulously created by craftsmen over a period of four years from a complex of six small town houses (dars) and one riad.
On entering this haven of tranquillity you will be struck by the restful atmosphere of contemporary refinement and arabo-moorish charm,
the whole contrasting sharply with the frenetic activity of the thronged medina beyond its walls.
Now what can I say about Les Borjs de la Kasbah? It's a peaceful oasis in the heart of the hustle and bustle that is Marrakech. I have stayed in some exceptional hotels around the world but it has every single one of them beat. Let’s start off with the staff, the most friendly, helpful and just downright amazing people you can expect to find in any hotel. I would love to pick out some of them for special mention but I genuinely can’t as they've all been incredible! Now the food. We came with great ideas of eating out in the city's fancy restaurants each night ….. and then we tried the food in BK's restaurant and knew instantly that we didn't need to. The food choices are amazing and the quality outstanding. The rooms. Just perfect. Exceptionally clean, beautifully maintained and very comfortable. You have everything you need. We opted for single rooms and they were among the largest we've stayed in. The Riad. Serene. That’s the best word to describe it. Outside is all the hustle and bustle but the second you are inside everything is quiet. I have no idea how that’s possible but it is. It’s the most tranquil and peaceful place I have ever stayed. The pool. This was the place most used by me. When temperatures hit 49 degrees, the pool was my safe haven. Tom, is one of the two owner/directors of the Riad alongside his Moroccan wife Nora. We did not have the pleasure of meeting Nora on our trip but we met Tom a good few times and what a delightful man he is. On our arrival he came straight over to introduce himself and was warm, friendly and funny. He sat with us, shared stories and laughs and was just a delight to be around. To anyone thinking about Les Borjs, just book it. It is one of, if not the, best place I have ever stayed. The riad is close to the best attractions of Marrakech but is also a pleasure to come back to for its peace and tranquility. I would recommend the place to anyone and will definitely be coming back.
We have just returned from a week here and it was amazing. Firstly, the staff. Everyone was so nice, friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, and they really made it a joy to be there. We had two rooms between us, both spacious and spotlessly clean, the communal areas likewise spotless. The food was really nice,we had breakfast every day and then lunch most days. The pool was a bonus, it was 40 plus everyday we were here so having the pool to escape the mid-afternoon heat was great, and it was so quiet and relaxing. The area is excellent, quiet but close enough to everything to make it an ideal location. We've already planned to go back, without the kids, it really was lovely.
I didn’t stay here but my friends and I came here for the spa treatments (facials, hamams and massages) which were great we loved them. In fact, we returned a few times because they were so good. The receptionist and Nora, one of two directors, were so kind and helpful. We bought a lot of original skincare and body care products such as tabrima powder, black soap, argan oil and more which Nora ordered for delivery next day. We spoke to guests staying at Les Borjs and they loved it too. Would definitely stay here the next time I visit.
The rooms are spotless: bedding, showers, attention to detail, the little touches will bring a smile to your face. Location is on the edge of the Medina, so it's a bit of a walk to the main square, but this does make this make this a slightly more peaceful spot. The staff are amazing. Noteworthy details: the personal touches from the Directors, Tom and Nora - genuine interest in their visitors. You'll see what I mean! Hotel highlights: luxury, quiet, child-friendly and great value.
We have just come back from the most magical long weekend in this beautiful hotel. The location, rooms, decor and ambience were fabulous, but most of all the staff were just amazing. The whole team couldn't do enough, better than 5* + hotels I've stayed at. They were so welcoming and friendly. It's such a peaceful oasis right in a quieter part of the Medina but close to everything. I really can't say enough good things about it. I really hope to visit again. Thank you to Tom, Nora, Mohamed and all the team.
We had a fantastic stay; all the staff were pleasant, polite, helpful and always had a smile on their faces. The rooms we had were very clean, tidy and of a very good size and had everything we needed for our stay. The pool area was lovely and quiet and a great relaxing space at the end of the day from the hot and busy Medina markets etc. We had B&B and the breakfast was lovely and fresh with plenty of choice and the omlettes etc were cooked in front of you. We ate out most evenings and had an evening meal in the hotel restaurant courtyard on our last night, which was the best meal we had throughout our stay and we wished we'd eaten there more. We can highly recommend this Riad and will be certain to book another stay around the same time next year. It was a 10/10 from us.
If you really want to enjoy Moroccan hospitality, then you should definitely book this Riad. The service is excellent and the staff do everything to make you feel at home from the first minute. The hotel has great rooms, a very good restaurant and a great courtyard garden. The pool is also lovely for cooling off during the hot days in Marrakech. Everything is clean and well arranged. Nora and Tom are the very best and sweetest hotel owners you could wish for. I would also recommend the spa here. The Hammam and the massages are fantastic. The hotel also offers a good base for various attractions. Highly recommended!
We stayed here for 4 nights and what an amazing experience it was. The hotel is outstanding with a beautiful feeling of serenity and transquillity, staff who go above and beyond in a calm and tranquil setting. The pool and spa are so welcoming after time out exploring and the restaurant is amazing. . The hotel is also able to book excursions direct and its fabulous location is within walking distance of the central medina, palaces, gardens and the souk. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and the staff set up a private dining experience, leaving us with amazing memories. Don't hesitate to book, you wont regret it. We would 100% recommend Les Borjs. Big shout outs to Nadia, Fatima and Mohammed - you were all amazing.
Beautifully maintained and designed property in a great location on the edge of the old city. Everything was immaculate. Beautiful bedroom and large bathroom. Great breakfast that was varied and so fresh. We had dinner one night and it was really tasty. It has a pool, which is rare in the area, but, again, it was immaculately maintained. All the staff were helpful, including the owners. They booked taxis to/from the airport - nothing was too much trouble. It was amazing how tranquil it was when you stepped through the doors from the bustling streets outside. The only noise within the hotel was the daily dawn chorus from the birds roosting in the orange trees - a lovely way to start the day
A birthday celebration with 17 slightly crazy girlfriends😊 Our stay at les Borjs de la Kasbah was a success from arrival to departure. The service was pleasant, the rooms were superb, the food exceeded all expectations and there was great entertainment - thank you very much from us, 17 lively slightly older Norwegian ladies 💃🎶
Amazing riad - the photos don’t do it justice. Within the medina but on the edge so away from the noise and chaos. The property is stunning and the rooms are extremely clean. The staff were wonderful - super helpful and welcoming. An absolutely gem and we wished we could have stayed longer. Hotel highlights Luxury, Romantic, Quiet, Great value
This was a wonderful stay at Les Borjs de la Kasbah. Everything was A1 from breakfast, lovely mint tea in the afternoon, delicious dinners in the courtyard and a fabulous range of treatments at the spa. The owners were regularly seen and were very amiable and efficient. The breakfasts were lovely with a great omelette station and lots of delicious fruits, cheeses, breads and everything you could want. We had room 305, overlooking the lovely courtyard, which was simply beautiful. We were unable to get a suite as they were fully booked but the standard was very high with all the accommodation. Our deluxe double was also amazing. A special mention must go to the lovely staff at reception Nora, Imane and Hamza. They were so kind and attentive and made our stay just perfect. I definitely recommend this Riad if you visit Marrakech.
Les Borjs de la Kasbah is a truly special place that immediately makes you feel at home. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and friendliness were unmistakable. Nora and Tom are the perfect hosts - attentive, genuine, and always keen to ensure that every detail is just right. What really stood out for us was the incredible team. Every member of staff went above and beyond to create a welcoming, personal atmosphere. We felt like we were being looked after by people who genuinely care. The whole experience was relaxed and full of thoughtful touches that made it unforgettable. I would highly recommend this beautiful riad to anyone looking for comfort and charm. Special mention must be made of the young lady in the Hammam (I'm sorry I've forgotten your name!). You were wonderful!
Yet another lovely stay at the Borjs de la Kasbah! We haven't visited for a few years (life got in the way!) and it was so wonderful to be back with the fabulous owners and staff at Les Borjs. We travelled with a couple of friends who really wanted to visit Marrakech but were a little nervous, and they loved it as well. From the beautiful rooms, the great food, the excellent pool and Spa areas and above all, the incredible staff, it was the perfect break. Can highly recommend the trips and guides organised by the Borjs staff, and every aspect of the holiday was smooth and well organised. We won't be leaving it so long before our next visit! Thank you Tom, Nora and staff at Les Borjs de la Kasbah.
Wij hebben enorm genoten van ons verblijf in dit Riad. Ontzettend gastvriendelijk. Ledereen wil je graag helpen. Kamers, zwembad, spa en gezamenlijke ruimtes prachtig en ingericht. Heel lekker ontbijt én alles is zo schoon. Wij voelden ons ontzettend welkom. Met 10 min in de taxi of 25 minuten lopen zit je in centrum van de medina. Prima uitvalsbasis voor een trip naar Marrakech.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Riad. Incredibly hospitable. Everyone is eager to help. The rooms, pool, spa, and common areas are beautiful and well-decorated. The breakfast was delicious, and everything is so clean. We felt incredibly welcome. You can reach the center of the medina in 10 minutes by taxi or 25 minutes on foot. It is an excellent base for a trip to Marrakech.
This was my second trip back to Marrakesh staying in this wonderful Riad Hotel, the first time for my husband. It really is home from home & I was delighted to have stayed here again Hotel was as wonderful as last time with friendly staff & excellent service, spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of choice. Had some lunches by the pool which were just delicious Nothing is too much trouble I would definitely stay here again & have recommended this hotel to many people Wish I had booked to stay longer!
The epitome of quiet luxury, this exquisite, family-run hotel provides discreet yet attentive service, beautiful rooms, and delicious food. Its prime location is ideal for exploring the city, while the property itself remains a perfect sanctuary to relax and recharge.
Our first visit to Marrakech and we couldn’t have chosen a better riad. Excellent, friendly staff, lovely clean, calm communal areas. We had a premium room which was spacious, nicely decorated and had very comfortable beds. The restaurant was excellent, you were spoilt for choice at breakfast and was a fantastic way to start each day. In the evening you could choose from a menu du jour or from the à la carte menu. All our meals were excellent and very well presented. The pool area was most welcome after spending the day sightseeing. Well done Nora, Tom and team.
We had a wonderful stay at BK. Such a beautiful oasis in Marrakesh; calm, relaxing, quiet with authentic Moroccan architecture and decor with a real attention to detail. Food was delicious with a fine range of wines and beers. Staff were attentive but not overbearing. The directors Tom and wife Nora were absolutely delightful. I thoroughly recommend this hotel, the best I’ve stayed at in a while - a jewel in Morocco.
A home from home with all the boxes ticked from an experienced but picky traveller. This place is genuinely brilliant. When we booked we were apprehensive about the location but, actually, it's in a great area and we felt crazy thinking it wasn't in a good location. Now we have stayed there we think it's in the best location. Still within the Medina, but far enough from the main hustle and bustle to be a good break from the busyness. But also we felt we were in more of an authentic part of the Medina without the tourist pull of the Souks etc. The hotel is super quiet too which is such a welcome break from the manic of the souks and busy streets of the Medina. I'm a very light sleeper and really fussy when it comes to what counts as 'quiet' for sleeping. I can attest to the fact it was really quiet for sleeping. No sounds of cars, motorbikes, shouting or anything. The rooms are lovely. We stayed in a suite and they were large, comfortable, had good heating/air con, good amenities and were tastefully decorated. I think, if anything, the photos on the website don't do the accommodation the justice they deserve. The rooms felt very clean and well appointed from a furnishings and linen perspective. I'd class this is a good hybrid between hotel and Riad, in a positive way. It felt very traditional and had the comforts to make you feel right at home. Better than anything I have mentioned above, are the staff. The staff at this property make it. Friendly faces, someone always making sure you're ok or whether you need anything. It felt like we were looked after from the moment we entered the front door to there moment we left. Nothing was too much effort and the service was 10/10.
We're a bit late in submitting this review but in truth there isn't much to add to what others have said. You really are in a little oasis away from the frenzy of the Marrakesh kasbah outside. We were in room 202 which was huge and well appointed (there was some sound from the kitchen below in the mornings but nothing too annoying). On arrival, our cases were taken to the room while we enjoyed complimentary mint tea. The breakfast every morning was superb and we ate at the hotel a few times which we can completely recommend (ask Tom for advice about the wines they serve - Moroccan wine was a great discovery for us). The pool was an added bonus with plenty of space/sunbeds and an opportunity to meet some of your fellow guests who on the whole were a very sociable bunch. Tom, Nora and all the wonderful staff are always on hand to help with any queries, organising taxis, excursions or anything you might need during your stay. Tom even made the effort to great us in our native Welsh during our stay - diolch Tom! Our stay at Les Borjs has made us consider returning to Morocco for future holidays and if they are in Marrakesh, this is definitely where we would stay. Just book - you will not regret it.
This was the best hotel I have ever been to. I have been to 4 and 5 star hotels but the Les Borjs de la Kasbah was fantastic. The place was beautiful and the staff were outstanding...all of the staff. Thank you once again Les Borjs de la Kasbah.
My wife and I have recently returned from a 1 week holiday in Marrakech staying at Les Borjs. The riad is owned by Tom and Nora, who have spent a considerable time getting it to the very high standard it is today. We were greeted at the desk and taken through to the central courtyard where we had our first mint tea and Moroccan pastries/biscuits. What a greeting! Our cases were taken up to our room whilst we were having our tea. This was just the beginning which just goes to show how good the hospitality is. The rest of our stay was just fantastic. Les Borjs was our oasis of calm from the frenetic and chaotic pace of the Medina. Tom and Nora, and all of the staff, from the cleaners to the front of house, were just so hospitable and provided us with so much information during our first stay in Marrakech. We would definitely recommend this riad so highly and if we were to visit Marrakech again we would have no hesitation in staying, provided Tom and Nora would have us back. Shukran
